Welcome to Miss Metzler's Pre-kindergarten Class at Cople Elementary!
Hello Everyone!
Allow me to introduce myself :) I just moved down to Westmoreland County when I accepted the position as the new Pre-kindergarten teacher at Cople Elementary. I was born and raised in Central New York, outside of the city of Syracuse. I am the oldest of 5 children and have been volunteering to work with children at my church since the age of 13. In December 2010, I graduated with a dual certification in Early Childhood and Childhood Education from the State University of New York College at Oneonta. This is my first long term teaching position. I am loving being in Westmoreland! :)
The district adopted a new curriculum this year created by Scholastic. The new curriculum is wonderful! Everyone is loving the stories and activities! Scholastic provides a website managed by the classroom teacher to share everything that is happening in the classroom.

The Scholastic website will have the most up-to-date information. It is created in a way that is simple to use and it has a lot of information on it. You can look at what we will be covering months in advanced. On the website, there are great tips and book suggestions. My favorite part is the link to BookFlix. This is a way for you to reinforce the concepts I cover in the classroom.
